Cromwell vs. a Franchise
What are the differences?
- Both Cromwell and the franchiser will provide you with experienced,
professional help. However, Cromwell’s principals and experienced staff
are seasoned entrepreneurs who know what it takes to be your own boss
and to successfully run your own business.
- Both will provide you with a proven concept and procedures. The
franchiser will not allow flexibility. Cromwell will teach you the
restaurant business and allow you to be creative in using your own
ideas.
- The franchiser will dictate your name, décor and design. Cromwell
will assist and guide you in selecting your own name and décor.
- Cromwell will provide cost flexibility in developing a store for
your specific needs and budget. A franchiser will have a specific
investment requirement. Remember that the franchiser receives a
significant portion of your monthly gross sales, usually automatically
taken from your bank account electronically. So their primary interest
is in gross sales. Cromwell is only interested in your success (net
profit related to gross sales). In other words, with Cromwell you will
spend less and make more.
- With Cromwell, you will have product flexibility. You will have the
choice of making not only traditional favorites but developing your own
flavors that may be more popular for your specific market area. You
will have no product flexibility with a franchiser.
- With Cromwell Corp., you will pay a one-time fee, no ongoing royalties.
- A franchiser will charge you the entire franchise fee in advance
and continue to collect fees (royalties & advertising) in the range
of 7-12% of your monthly gross sales. This % of the gross sales can
amount to 40% - 50% of your net profit. Do you need a 40% partner who
makes virtually 100% of the decisions and contributes 0% of the funding?
Summation:
Both Cromwell and a franchiser can help
you to have a successful bagel/bread/smoothie business. At Cromwell, we
teach you to make your own sound decisions and offer advice to prepare
you for your own success. We set you up for a prosperous journey rather
than hanging over your operation, pulling you down a set path. If you
want a partner who shares in the profits but makes no financial
contribution, then you should select a franchise. If you want to be
your own boss, then Cromwell is the choice.
